Customs facts to keep separate
Jamaica Customs Agency guidance says duties and taxes are payable on imported goods and vary by the commodity being imported. For goods imported through a courier agency, the JCA describes clearance as something that may be handled by the courier agent or by the importer depending on the arrangement.
For commercial imports, the JCA states that commercial goods are cleared through the eSAD on ASYCUDA, and that a licensed Customs Broker is required for goods with a CIF value of US$5,000 or more.
